Levorgblackout, your not the only one to sell their levorg. Exact same reasons. I needed a manual. I'm driving a little i30 Sr manual around until I can find something better.
I have put on Tein Flex-Z coilovers, which were less than $2k installed. There is a thread about it. Some people have put on RSR-Ti lowering springs, but I don't know what that has done to change the ride.
I'm also looking at disassembling my Bilstein shocks to see how easy it would be to...
I think there are 3 issues with the Subaru suspension:
1 the front spring rate is too low. This results in excessive travel and it can bottom out.
2 the front is over damped to compensate for the soft springs. This results in harsh bangs when you hit a bump at speed.
3 the rear is under damped...
It certainly is an issue in Australia. The Bilstein suspension (included on the spec b and the GTS) here is "custom tuned" to suit or local conditions. http://www.subaru.com.au/active/around-corner/subaru-levorg-testing-australia
I have a GTS and had a couple of visits to my local dealer about...
Considered the Tein's? Coilovers specific for the Levorg, different rates than the wrx. I'm super happy with mine. Also the b18s cost an absolute fortune.
Welcome. There's a few threads about suspension on here. A couple have put the variable rate rear springs over stock shocks, some have gone for a custom setup from MCA and I've just put in some Tein's.
Enjoy your new ride.
That sounds about right then, as mine are now 345mm front and 350mm rear, and I figured about -15mm drop... Surprised your rear is less than the front, maybe I stuffed up my measurements.
Interesting replies.
I'm still fiddling around with it, and I have gone far away from the recommended settings (which were very stiff and very very low) so now it is about a 15 mm drop (I think) and every time I drive it I'm reducing the front damping a little bit more.
Can someone...
Spent some time yesterday with various mechanics and suspension guys comparing cars (in case it was just mine) only to conclude that this was how Subaru intended it to be. So now I'm in discussions with fulcrum suspension about this. I will see what they come back with and then decide if I...
I suspect that most of the volume is knocked out mid pipe, and the mufflers on the back don't need to do too much. Having had it for a couple of days I would like a bit louder.
