Engine choice

Hi all

Need some input on engine choice. In Europe, we got 2 engine options:

1.6DiT with 125kW / 170BHP and 250Nm
2.0i (N/A) with 110kW / 150BHP and 198Nm

Recent cars all came with the 2.0 engine, the cars between 2015 and 2019 came with the 1.6. I've never spend this kind of money on any car so I want it to be as new as possible, but still enjoyable to drive.

My current car is an Outback (2006) with the mighty 245BHP 6 cilinder engine and 300Nm of torque, but I also drive a 4th Gen Legacy 2.0R with a 165BHP engine and I must say that often prefer that car over the Outback. It's lighter and at least as pleasant on the highway and much more when it gets twisty. I think performance wise the Legacy is on par with the 2.0i Levorg, whilest the 1.6 will be somewhere in between.

Should I just buy the car that has the lowest miles, most factory warranty or should I wait for a nice, low mileage 1.6 (with eyesight). I want to test drive both, but atm, there's about 4 cars for sale in the whole country...

Thanks

T.

Incorrect :D based on https://www.leparking.be/#!/voiture-occasion/levorg.html?id_pays=6&tri=date, and removing dupes, there are 8 ATM
You can also fairly easily import french/dutch/german/lux cars, thanks to european certificate of conformity etc. Some paperworks indeed, but not impossible.

As for the engine you should pick, well, the turbo engine has muffled noise compared to 2.0 (because the turbo breaks some of the exhaust notes), and there is no audible dump valve. The 1.6 also has somewhat more torque.
I haven't driven the 2.0, so I cannot tell you how it behaves.

I meant 4 with eyesight (sorry).

I'm considering importing one from Germany, but if I could source a low mileage (sub 20 000) car with eyesight which has the 1.6 in Belgium, I'd be all over it. Still, needs to have the right color (white, lapis blue, dark grey or black).

Btw, did you have the chance to ask your dealer about the Tein suspension? :)

Asked the dealer - No GOCA with Tein. KW and Bilstein do it, but he's got to ask his supplier if they can make this happen for a levorg set.

Care to look at KW/Bilstein & see what specific model might interest you ?

Thanks for asking your dealer. I was hoping he could get a set of TEIN with TüV or Goca, because price/quality is quite good. KW is quite expensive and I'm not sure if it would be wise to use Bilstein (depends what set they make for the Levorg).

Ohlins do a set for the 2015> WRX which fit the Levorg (not sure about spring rates though), and they are tuv certified.
