Hi all knowledgeable people. Has anyone had this problem with a 2020 STI? Drivers side rear trailing arm broken. I know our roads in Sydney are bad but this is a surprise. Subaru knocked back a warranty claim. No other damage to car, no tracking or mods on rear. Can this be from a pot hole?

seems surprising this would be from a poth hole and the rim would be fine. is the wheel bent at some place (inside and/or outside edge) ?

Steel usually shears where metal fatigue accumulate (don't quote me on this, this is my experience toying with steel scraps in my dad's shed as a kid).
It must have been some serious forces exerted there to have the trailing arm unbent out of U shape before shearing as it did.

Did you jack up your car on that trailing arm maybe ?

Would have to have been one hell of a pothole. I've hit a few nasty ones down here in Melbourne. One off-road was real nasty, bent both rims on the LHS of the car, but that was the only damage, nothing like what you have there. I'd send a letter to Subaru HO requesting warranty, if you have full service history done, no mods to suspension, and the rims aren't damaged I can't see how it could be anything you've done, maybe driving off a cliff could do that! Just coz the dealer denied warranty isn't necessarily the end of it, dealer is first port of call. Worth a crack, no pun intended ;)
If you end up having to pay for it yourself may be better to get a couple of stronger after market ones instead?

Thanks all for the reply. The local dealer has been good, it was Subaru who rejected the request. I will send the letter off today. Thanks again.
