Door speakers and smart rear view mirror

Hi. On my Subaru Levorg 2.0 ,2019 only speakers on dashboard are working. All other speakers in the doors are not working.
Also smart rear view mirror is not working.

Had someone on here or on FB (don't recall) with the same issue. Tried replacing head unit, turned out to unfortunately be all 4 speakers (1/door) dead...

Reached out to that person on FB; they had replaced the OE speaker by MTX ones. they also died a few months later.

They suspect the head unit is driving them badly. I'd recommend you tried a set of speakers (remove door cards, plug new speakers to confirm diagnose). If that's the case, you may want to replace the dead speakers, and replace the head unit to avoid your new speakers to blow up in a few months as well :-/

If you have a voltmeter, check that there's no DC offset being applied to the speakers by the head unit. That can be a good way to kill speakers. IF there is, either a new head unit is needed, or the head unit needs repaired.

Thank you very much for your quick response. I didn't mention that the rearview smart camera also is not working. That's why I thought that it was some kind of electrical problem.

Look like I am the only owner of Levorg who has problem with rearview smart camera.

what do you mean by "not working" ?

when you put in reverse, the head unit isn't showing camera ? it's showing a black image ? it's showing a picture, not a video stream ? the image is reversed ?

Sorry. Im talking about inner rearview mirror.when you pull middle button the camera should be activated but in my car shows no video.

Never seen that inner view mirror button that triggers the camera when depressed.

I got a MY2015 though, so maybe that's why

Correct, when you flip the leaver the rear camera in the back window should show in the mirror. This was only on the 2017 and later versions in Australia. Stupid question but you did check the back window has a camera?

Yes , there is camera but from some reason is not working.

Thanks man you were right. All 4 speakers were dead.
Now I need only to repair smart rear view mirror.
P.S. Should open a new thread for this?

With the content already in this thread, I think you should keep it in here. just edid your first post to change the topic (so you include the rear view cam next to the door speakers).

About the speakers, did you do the check recommended by Sbrlx ? Checking for DC voltage from the head unit (when HU off, or in mute) ?

I just bought new speakers, installed them and everything works great.

Just checking, is the smart rear view mirror on Subaru levorg covered under warranty?

Check your fuses. Do your us ports work? One fuse runs them all

Hi Rob, yes the USB ports are working fine. I brought it in to Melb City Subaru to get it checked, since it’s under warranty still. At the first glance the service advisor denied saying that the mirror is not genuine. I had to pull out Subaru Australia’s brochure to show that it was factory fitted. I hope they will be able to find the issue. I will update once i get the feedback from the dealer. Thank you for your response.

The smart view rear view can be toggled on and off with buttons are you sure it’s not turned off , I had a little issue with mine but then once I pushed the right side buttons on the mirror it turned it on then the flip in the center actually makes it show up , but could be another issue just thought I’d mention it

Hi all, sorry for the delayed response. Finally, the problem to my smart rear view mirror was identified. It is unique to my car and not a unit level problem. Apparently, the previous owner of my car has had a windshield replacement. It was done by an independent mechanic. They damaged the co-ax cable during the window removal process hence why i couldn’t get the camera feed. There is power to the device but no image appearing. It’s an expensive fix according to Glen Waverly Subaru (approx AU$8k). I chose to make peace with it and live without that function. Just a tip for other levorg owners, keep an eye on the mechanics when they’re replacing your windshield especially when they’re getting access through the interior. Many independent mechanics don’t know the levorg has this smart rear view mirror function. The co-ax cable is fragile and requires meticulous handling. Thanks.
