Alarm / Key / auto sense Issues

Hi all

I'm having an issue with my cars locking/alarm

If I have key in pocket/hand whilst locked and put my hand on handle it beeps and unlocks, however if I open door the alarm goes off ?

I have swapped keys and installed new batteries
Have given it time between hand on handle unlock then open
have tried passenger door as well

what am I missing here ?

Try unlocking the car with the key, lock with fob and see if pulling on the handle opens and sets the alarm off
