Hello,
I've recently bought Clarion GL-700 unit to replace stock Fujitsu Ten navigation with 6 buttons in my Vorg '15

I've succeeded connecting factory camera with separate harness with 12V to 6V converter.

Now I'm facing issue with CANBUS box and I wonder if somebody could help me.

I wanted to seamlessly connect SWC. Unfortunatelly CANBUS box I bought is dead.

I don't need any other CAN features than steering wheel controls, so do I need CANBUS box for SWC feature?

I found this page which shows that steering wheel controls are resistance based (pins 21-23). Can someone confirm this? Is this really true? It seems my device is able to learn such controls.

Noone answered, but I have the answer, as I already did the test, and AFAIK it applies to Levorgs and WRXs with Fujitsu Ten unit.

Indeed We don't need a canbus box for steering wheel control! You don't need to buy one, if you are not interested in any additional data from your car to be shown on a display :)

Pins responsible for SWC are resistance-controlled:
- 21 (SW1) is for Key1
- 22 (SW2) is for Key2
- 23 (SWG) is for GND

Same for FM antenna - you don't need external amp if you have issues with FM signal quality.

There is a pin marked as "A8" that is responsible for powering built-in antenna amp. You need to solder "Auto Ant" wire from HU (usually loose blue wire) with this pin.

In my radio I had to turn on the setting "Factory Antenna Amplifier" in "Factory Settings".

This required me to put the password which in case of Clarion GL-700 is "1940" to access the setting.
