I decided to change the stock Denso air filter with a direct replacement for Apexi.

I can definitely hear the induction sound a lot more and feel that it is a little more responsive though this could be the placebo effect! :)

Anybody else changed their air filter or had a full cold air intake setup and had some sort of tune done after changing it and what was your result?

^ Not sure about elsewhere but time on a dyno is just too damn expensive just to tune / measure gains for a new airfilter alone, most would do exhaust at a minimum.

Perhaps then swapping in and out airfilter for comparison whilst on dyno retuning for the exhaust might make sense.

Fwiw K&N appear to claim ~9HP gains for the WRX

I thought about this: https://www.rallysportdirect.com/part/short-ram-air-intakes/kn-69-8006ttk-kn-typhoon-intake-system
But don't really know if there are any differences between 2L wrx and 1.6L Levorg, enginebay looks the same.
A friend of mine ordered an AEM intake kit for 2.0 Lt WRX and lots of error codes. We ended up decreasing the size of the intake pipe to make it work without any error codes or malfunctioning. Obviously the air amount both engines need is different .

ST1654621010 - STI Panel Filter is also an option, least likely to impact warranty though pretty easily swapped out like most if need be.

I've got the apexi in, also blocked off the milk bottle baffle.
More aggressive induction noise, however no power on the bum-dyno to be noticed.

Awesome, I just taped off mine! Sounds heaps better... Wonder why people go to all the effort of getting that bloody milk bottle thing out when u can just tape the hole up????

Yea, definitely creates induction. Taking it off looked a little tedious and didn't want to damage anything. If you tape it well it will hold up fine
