Hi all.

My new Levorg didn't come with a spare wheel. We only get a can of gunk and a compressor. I was thinking of looking for a spare wheel, but wanted to check what size I would need to fit the car and also fit in the recess under the boot floor.

1: Would a full size spare fit in the boot or will it need to be a spacesaver?
2: What size wheel? stud centres, offset etc.

I have standard for the UK 225/45/18 on standard alloys.

Thanks if anybody can help.

Regards
Andy

I got a Toyo Snowprox 215/50r17 w/ a Borbet 7.0x17 5x114.3 ET48 72.5.

And I also purchased the factory styrofoam insert that fits in the wheel and holds the jack & nut wrench. All of it fits under the trunk liner, if you remove the puncture-kit specific liner.

LMK if you'd like picture of my set up, in order to understand better what I'm on about :D

I bought a space saver spare, it leaves enough room under the floor fo a whole load of other junk. Note that the PCD is 5x114.3.

Space saver is indeed a nice invention. Only caveat is speed limits and poor handling.

So I went with a 5th winter wheel, and here below you can see my set up :D

FWIW, I was originally with only the puncture fix kit (with the ugly white liquid and the small pump on 12v), and I was able to purchase only the space saver insert from my subaru dealer.
Made a custom wheel holder with a threader rod, rubber/wood sized to the wheel hole, nuts & washer, JB weld, and ta-daaah

Thanks for the replies, your help is very much appreciated. It gives me the info I need, especially knowing I can fir a full size wheel in without issue. Nice Job Nicodache, Looks like the route I will take with mine.

Thanks. There is one for sale on Ebay on the UK. It says it is a space saver from a Levorg, but states the PCD is 5 x 100... I will give it a miss.

You can always ask for a close up hi-res pic of the wheel - PCD is usually indicated on the inner side (in some cryptic way, granted)

Rolling diameter is the most important thing with AWD. The stock spare from Subaru is actually too small to be used safely for long, that’s why they recommend using it only to drive somewhere to get your other one repaired, so as not to cause damage to the AWD system. I’m using stock Enkei STi rims but upped the width to 235 with the same 45 profile as the stock 225s. This added 4mm sidewall height to help with the bumps our Levorgs hate and don’t deal with well. This made the rolling diameter even more out of whack and not safe for the AWD system (anyone who got bigger wheels and wider tyres without upgrading the spare take note)
I purchased a second hand 215/55R17 for 30 bucks and fitted it to the original 17” spare. Rolling diameter suits the stock rims and wider tyres closer than the original setup from Subaru did making it safe to use for any distance. Plus I’m not limited to only 80kmph anymore as it is not the rim that governs the speed but the makeup of the space saver spare Tyre.
Use this website if your looking to change wheels, tyres, spares:-

Just put in what is stock, then try different combinations to find the nearest match for rolling diameter, it’s an awesome resource ;)

My 2019 Levorg GTS 2.0 came with a space saver. I bought a full size rim from Subaru Port Melbourne and had a Pirelli fitted. It all fits perfectly in the space. Australian spec.
