8 Years Extended Warranty - worth it ?

Hi,
Have anyone here purchase a dealer extended warranty ?
Just got my Levorg GT-S this week from Tom Kerr Subaru (Sydney Australia). They are trying to push the 8 years 'Mechanical Protection Plan' for $950, which include road side assist for the entire period and a comprehensive list of covered items.
Anyone have experience with this type of warranty ? Specially from Tom Kerr would be very helpful. Thanks

Is that the factory extended warranty offered by the dealer or the dealer one that's not through subaru???

It was offered by Tom Kerr on top of the three years Subaru factory warranty. I didn't take it up because the problem I have with that is the service must be with them from day 1.

We did purchase the Subaru Assured extended warranty for 3 years.
