Got the car back today, j pipe installed, tuned and a service.
The car now has 3 maps to select from. The dyno sheet shows comparison between map 1 and map 3 I believe.
Exhaust is louder under acceleration, nothing crazy, and a little drone but nothing that's gonna bother me. I think if I had the R400 exhaust it would be too loud. Can't wait for the weekend to go for a decent drive!

I tried to record the car at idle before and after the j pipe install. But no good ha. The video sounded as if it was louder before the install. Was parked in my underground carpark, and recorded from the same location for each. I'll try post something that truly represents the sound when I get a chance

Exactly what I asked the tuner! But it's not the case.
So what you do is, hold the cancel button on the steering wheel. Then the rpm needle will move to 1, 2 or 3 depending on what map it is on. Then you use the cruise control toggle to change between 1, 2 and 3. Then press cancel again, or just leave it and it will select whatever map you are on. And I can change the boost for each map too. By holding down on the cruise control toggle, then the boost gauge on the dash will jump to what boost it is set to. Then you can toggle that with the cruise control toggle. I can't set the boost higher than what the tuner set for each map, only lower it.

So I decided to install the white line bump steer correction kit. Seeing as I lowered it, thought it would be a good idea.
It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, the worst part was removing the steel sleeve/cone from the old ball joint to re-use with the new one.PXL_20250828_014336263.jpg

Little update. Just had the transmission serviced, there's metal sparkles in the old fluid. Safe to say the transmission is on its way out. So now comes the decision to either replace with another CVT, and only run the 240hp map. Or source a donor VA wrx and do the manual conversion. Been talking to one guy whose currently converting his. And there was another person nearby who has been looking into it aswell.

The donor option also creates more decisions.... Manual FA or Manual EJ STI

I thought sparkles was normal as you have metal constantly rubbing.
Were there any chunks? Thats when I'd worry.
Did you take any photos of the fluid as mine was a very dark brown when I drained it, and it looked nothing like the sparkly videos ive seen online.

Hmm I'll see if I can get the pictures off the mechanic, he did show me. But it also still shudders changing gears and with decent acceleration.
