THIS TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO BE THE DEATH OF ME...
So where do I start, I am sure that from previous posts we can probably establish that I havent had the best run with my Subaru Levorg STI 2018. within purchasing the car, from what i thought was a car enthusist (obviously not) but just someone who put a bandaid on many issues I have occured. starting with me having to replace the entire engine, to then replacing the CVT transmission, which was done through subaru. however they gave me 2 options a brand new transmission costing $10500 with a 5 year warranty, or a recon one costing $4500 with only a 3 month warranty...
well since i already had replaced engine costing over $8000 for so I opted for the later 1, being the recon transmission, due to monies a little stretched... which was done in Feb 2025. and now only last week, my AT OIL TEMP warning light came up, i took it to my local mechanic, and he exact words where OMG I hate to tell you but I think its your transmission again, and its going to be very expensive again.
I just towed it straight to subaru as they changed the last 1 and i am now awaiting confirmation of outcome.
I think I must be the only person who has had this many problems with a subaru engine - I thought subaru engines are reiable and last a lot longer than 9 months?? Has anyone else experienced transmission problems having to replace the CVT twice within the same year? I am so disappointed with this car, I am lost for words?
