Hi Akko
Nice wheels !!
Ives been offered a set of WRX STI wheels 18x8.5 and told to use 245 40 18 tyres
ive been told The standard 235 45 18 would have to be stretched as the standard wheels are 18 x 7.5 (not highly recommended)
Does anyone know if there would be any issues with fitment to the car
Standard GTS suspension
Im concerned about them rubbing or hitting the inner guard at full lock or any other components under the car
thanks

I'm running 18x9,5 et45, no rubbing, also 20mm lower.

Nope, no problem. I'm changing up the suspension in about a months time, so we'll see then.

Can confirm

Have now fitted Subaru Genuine WRX STI alloys 18x8.5 with 245/40/18 tyres and fit Perfectly and no rubbing or steering issues. Had Bobjanes double check everything before fitting

Car Now Looks more Mean with a wider stance

Also had them painted gloss Black as the std STI grey wheels on Grey was too much GREY ...

Wrapped them with some Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres and so much more responsive

Apparently Subaru had a special on the wheels and offered them up to dealers at a Special price...

Selling the original GTS rims and Michelin PS3's if anyone interested (in another post) tyres only done 4200kms

Also running my wider rims now, currently experimenting with tyre pressures 36f/34r Subaru claims 33f/32r for 245/40R18, may also revisit the alignment but will likely await new suspension (springs) first.

I bought my wider STi rims a week after buying the car. They are the charcoal 18x8.5 rims - shod with Bridgestone RE003s 245/40/18 with no clearance issues at all...
Hey Leigh, just wondering what offset those new wheels are? Look to sit pretty flush with the guards?

+55 most probably, same as stock but the extra inch of width makes a good difference.

ahh ok +55 seems high? Is that what the standard offset on an MY18 sti wheel is? I cant find the info anywhere... And if thats the same offset as stock and just an extra inch wider, wouldn't that mean it would only add half an inch each way on the width?
I don't think (purely going off look, and a definite chance i'm wrong) that half an inch extra width out would be enough to sit a wheel flush with the guards...
My old enkei rpf1's were 18x8.5 +42 and sat just inside flush (yes that was a forester not a levorg)

Yep +55 is standard for a 2015+ WRX STi wheel, could be running spacers but I doubt it

wow... well the wheels I was looking at will be way too far out the guards if that is the case...
wheels I was looking at are 18x9 +30

I think stumpvold said he is running 18x9.5 +45 and in his photos they don't seem to be protruding!

Also have to consider those with STi wheels aren't really lowered which makes a difference as the car will sqwat a bit...
