Ok cool. Apparently ours has a few extra options.
Like your surround only it was blue. We're thinking it may have been a reflection of a car in the yard however the blue was what drew us to it over the other ones available at the time. Sounds weird I know. I'll see if I can dig up the photos.

Hi all, Is the one from JapanParts.com genuine? As the subaru dealer wants over $800 fittted for one and the Japanparts.com one is only 537 delivered
The japan parts one would be genuine, the dealership has factored in labour costs as well.

Grab a mate and you can do it yourself including fitting the camera. Once you have the old grille out you can work out where the camera can go on the new grille.

Yeah true, I'm just concerned that the bracket/mount that holds the camera is on my original grille, which would complicate installing it onto the new one if the new one doesn't have any mounts on it.

Yep it’s part of the vision assist system. I think it’s mounted to the grille. There’s another camera for the same system on the LH mirror

Going to buy a grille from Japanparts.com shortly.
Does anyone have some info on removing and installing these pls?
You can use guidelines for WRX which you can find on some youtube videos.
I can give a short description as I did that few months ago.
Before removing front bumper, remove head lamp light washer covers, put some rug under the front and have someone to help you (you can do it yourself also, but ofc it´s easier with extra hands).
Proceed with taking off front bumper by removing clips and few screws than use some force to unclip bumper holders from sides and around front lights (first one side and than the other).
You´ll also have to disconnect fog lights and the camera before fully removing the bumper (I didn´t disconnect anything, but it was a bit harder like that).
From there comes the easiest part of the job, just unscrew few screws located behind the grille and mount the new one.
After that, just do everything backwards but makes sure that the bumper sits equally on both sides when putting it back.

I think it took me an hour and a bit with all the preparations.

Thanks for the info. My grille is a few weeks away so I have time to go buy some new clips just in case and decide what to do with the lower grille opening where I have a chrome strip which I want to get rid of but can’t find any replacement parts.

Just received my new grille for my 2018 Levorg and it has the hole and mounting bracket for the camera :)

When I do the install I will take pics and maybe even a small vid to go on youtube for the Levorg.

Scottyd, a tip with the head light washer/sprayer. After you remove the "head" you can pull them out with your fingers and they unclip. Loop some twine or thin string around the T- shaped part of the sprayer still attached to the car. When fitting the front end back on just thread the string through the washer hole in the bumper. When front end fitted just pull the string out and re clip the spray body. Good luck.

I’m not sure I have headlight washers... well I haven’t noticed them.

Nope the 2018 Levorg doesn’t have them.
Mate you sure? On your profile pic, just under the headlight I thought I saw a square/ rectangle profile.

Hi All, seeking some advice on the mesh style grille option for my Levorg (2017 Subaru Levorg 1.6 GT Premium V1 MY18)

I'm weighing up the options and costs - between Subaru dealer install or do it myself

Japan Parts - https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/45876

Cost will be about AUD $530-560 depending on shipping option

Subaru Dealer - cost range is AUD $790 if you purchase unfitted from the Subaru Docklands ebay store: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GENUINE-SUBARU-LEVORG-ACCESSORY-FRONT-GRILLE-COLOUR-CODED-MY17-SAVE-15-NEW-/222567960407

or

Subaru Dealer - fitted AUD $870 - https://www.subaru.com.au/levorg/accessories

As other members have suggested dealer option is convenient given the bumper off installation process.

The question I have is that according to the Subaru Australia site (above) - the mesh grille option is only applicable to 2.0GT-S. I have 1.6 GT Premium so this has put some doubt in my mind about the suitability of this part for my vehicle?

Not sure why you can’t fit the mesh grille to a 1.6 GT. If you don’t have a camera in the grille area then it’s no problem as the mesh grille has a blank to fill the hole for it. Also I imagine the 1.6 has the same front bumper as the 2.0 GTS as the STI has the different bumper.

Thanks Scott, yeah given that the note regarding applicability of the mesh grille for 2.0 GTS model only appears on the Subaru Australia website and not the Subaru Docklands ebay shop or Japan Parts, I think it is Subaru Australia wanting to distinguish branding between the Levorg models. The 1.6 GT Premium has the front grille camera as well. I think it will be fine. Will attempt to document the install for this forum.

Minor update. Look what arrived in the mail today! Japan Parts was very efficient, packaging was impeccable. Will attempt to do another post with installation pics.
