new Levorg in the UK

Hi

I have just purchased a new 2.0 Levorg in the UK. Love the car however just had a couple of issues with the power steering. It has stopped working a couple of times today when driving (which is frightening) as it kicks the steering and goes heavy. The Eye sight faulty message comes on as well. It looks like a trip to the dealer but as it is an intermittent fault hopefully they can find something. I have a very good professional diagnostic tool and it doesn't read any faults. Not a good sat=rt to my ownership but hopefully fixed shortly. Anyway, hope to do some reading on the forum and pick up some hints along the way.

Welcome Andy, that's a harsh start for you. I'm in Aust and I don't think there has been any problem with power steering here at all, but several peopple from Europe have experienced problems with power steering, you will be able to find their posts on here. Might help to give Subaru that info to help them diagnose. To start try looking under the thread 'Warranty Claims, what has gone wrong with your Levorg'. Good luck with it mate, be sure to post an update when you get one to help others.
Also maybe move this post into that thread as well, so all warranty faults stay together, easier to find then

Thanks for the reply Guvna. Power steering now fixed. I found an auxiliary wire on the 12v + battery terminal had not been tightened up properly (So much for the PDI check) which must supply 12v to the power steering. Tightened up the securing nut and all good now. A big relief as I had visions of it being weeks in the dealers looking for an intermittent fault. .

Still getting used to all the toys that come with the GT spec in the UK. Smoothest car I have ever had, even better than my last Audi A6 with dual clutch auto.
