boot/trunk/lid/tailgate struts/dampers

My boot/trunk/lid/tailgate struts/dampers are dead again - I unlock the thing and pull on it so that the struts do their job and open it fully, but they now stop half-way through, and I hit my forehead a couple of times already...

That's the second set already in (the first one was covered under warranty).

1. do you also have issues with those struts being under-spec'd for the weight of the boot/trunk/lid/tailgate struts ?
2. got subaru PN ? I'd like to find the specs of the thing to get myself aftermarket ones that are somewhat stronger...

I've seen a few of the owners on here going to aftermarket tailgate lifter type struts, might be worth a look?

Those apparently would be 63269VA011 and 63269VA001

Recently replaced mine with AliExpress £40 items, definitely stiffer and don't sag when open; will see how long they last!!!
