Clicking/Ticking noise coming from behind start/stop button

There seems to be a consistent faint clicking noise coming from around behind the start/stop button. The rhythm is very consistent & repetitive as number number of clicks and gaps between. I wondered whether it's anything to do with the auto functions on lights/windscreen washers with them constantly being checked. Or then i thought is it anything to do with the Japanese toll card system installed in the car. It's not always there but have noticed it more so lately. Any ideas? I'll try get a video of it.

Have you tried turning the lights and wipers off auto?

@Robsyuk's got the point. Rear wiper is controlled over relay w ich is somewhat loud. Is it functioning?

I think i did try that before but not sure it worked. I don't believe the rear wiper is part of the auto function though. There does not seem to be much logic to when it happens. Didn't hear anything driving to work today and both the lights & wipers were on auto.
