Hi guys,
Levorg '14, 2.0 GT-S

It is 100k on clock and a high time for some thorough maintenance.
- CVT fluid - done
- Coolant - done
- Spark plugs - done
- Front diff -- to do
- Rear diff -- to do

Here comes the questions:
Type
I believe we trust in Motul, so Motul Gear Oil 300 75W-90 is the thing to go.
Capacity
rear - around 1 litre (based on some videos for the same year WRX)
front -??

I couldn't find any threads here. Has anyone done them at all?

Cheers!

I had front & rear diff done a while ago by my dealer. I should be able to find the qty based on the invoice.

I'll check later today and will update (if I don't forget :D)

I'm fairly confident that I know what plugs it is. Am I right in thinking, there's no washers and to just use 3bond on the threads?

I do have a pack of oil sump washers of I'm wrong.

Just done mine today. 4 year service
Engine oil and filter
Front and rear diff oil change
Brake fluid change
Pollen filter change.

The diff has steel washers on all the plugs. Reading on the web some people change them as recommended and some people re-use. I bought a box if various size Dowty sealing washers with viton rubber seals to make sure (not expensive if you buy a box of them. 1.2L capacity front and 0.7L rear. I bought 3L to make sure.

Don't forget the fill level plug for the front is on the bottom of the diff, don't fill up to the top of the top fill plug like you do with the rear. I also luckily had a large syringe to pump the oil into the front diff, not easy to do it without something like this.

Why don't you fill it to the top hole on the front?

You will over fill it if you fill to the fill plug. The small plug at the bottom of the diff is connected to a level tube. With the plug removed the oil will start running out when the level is at the top of the tube. The fill hole is a lot higher than this point. All I can presume is because of the drive shafts coming out of the side of the diff they couldn't put the fill hole at the correct fill level. I hope this helps.
