Just want to know if the fog lamp bulbs on JDM Levorgs are H8 or H16.

I bought H8 bulbs but when I took the old bulb out, it was H16. And I couldn't fit the H8 bulbs because one of the tabs was too wide for the socket. I can shorten one of the tabs on the H8 to make it fit, but I'm wondering if I could use those in the first place. The H8 is 35W while the H16 is 19W, and I'm concerned if using the higher power bulb will be risky.

I wouldn't risk it higher H8 is designed for higher wattage H16 isnt...

I want to, really. But NZTA says that I can't put LED bulbs inside halogen housings so I'm just playing it safe. It's a shame, but I don't want to risk failing compliance checks. I'm new to the country so I don't know if I can get away with stuff like LED bulbs.

Hey mate, I think you will be fine with LED for non headlights, as long as you dont go brighter or a different color.

I have replaced halogen to LED on all my cars in the past, number plate lights and fogs etc.. and never had an issue.

They mostly just want to stop ppl stuffing HID kits into older cars and blinding people.

When doing WOF they usually just check if it works and its a pass. unless its stupidly bright :)

just stick to same plug fitting and equal or wattage and Kelvin (color)

I see. I thought of using LEDs for my main beams and fog lights but didn't because I thought it was against the law. So it's okay for me to go LED for both of them?

I have LEDs on my turn signals though, which I know is not prohibited.

My Levorg has hid for low beam and I'm running stock halogen for high. Up to you they likely won't pull it up but they might they are bit fussy with headlights and as nzta state led in halogen fitting is officially illegal. All they will do is fail you though and tell you to swap back not a huge thing.

fogs should be fine though. Keep same brightness and color.
