My 2014 1.6L Levorg developed a knocking noise while driving and turning the steering wheel. You can feel a knock when turning the steering wheel while idle as well. For a while, there was also a squeaking noise but this has stopped. I took it to Subaru and they are thinking a new steering rack... Which is like $4500 NZD.
@Arkatee this sounds similar to something you had, do I just need to bite the bullet or should I try the tension spring first?

Would like to know more about Arkatee's issue and that tension spring theory.

Mine is MY2015 w/ 193kkm, and also developed some weird noise when turning left - typically when exiting a parking spot.

I had mine fixed under warranty by the main dealer. Subaru's recommendation was to try the tension spring first. This didn't fix the problem, so they fitted a new rack. Definitely try the spring first as it doesn't require removal of the rack.

Not sure if you got yours sorted but I'm in NZ with a 2014 model in exactly the same position, I've had the strut cap and wheel bearing replaced as well as the steering rack rebuilt under dealer warranty but the knocking still continues. I've noticed it seems worse when the car is hot or been driven for a while so I was always leaning towards a bush or bilstein issue as they may be affected by heat.. anyway, just bought some coilovers to try another potential solution. Let me know if anything worked for you.
