Hi. New to the club. I’ve got a 2016 Levorg Has any body been able to change the radio over to English or know where I could send it to. It’s a Panasonic CN-LR710D. Many thanks Col

I believe you should be able to change the language through the 'i' menu. If by English you mean expanding the Fm frequency range, then you may need a frequency expander plugged into the back of the unit.

Where are you based and what spec is the car (JDM?)

Hi thanks for the reply. It’s a Subaru Levorg 2016 and the radio display is in Japanese. I’m based in Wolverhampton.

You're better off changing the entire radio. The JDM head units have close to no use outside of Japan unless you have Bluetooth.

You cannot change the language on that unit unfortunately

As Miggi747 said better off swapping and getting and android / idoing or alternate unit .

A lot of people say to get the idoing. I keep considering it, but only use Bluetooth anyway.

I have the idoing, but it's not worth the money you spend for it. The sales assistant is perfect, but if you want to use Apple Car Play or Android Auto, it's not so good. Freezing, not connecting sometimes.
I am considering selling mine and going for a Pioneer or similar.

wow thats different to my experience.

I have been using over a year and and there has only been one time my android auto didnt conenct.
My work Van with oem android auto head unit has way worse issues connecting.
mine has never frozen as well just works, honestly one of the best purchases for levorg. I did go the more expensive higher res unit with more ram...

That being said i do have one gripe and thats the mic quality is pretty average. might look at another mic or settings.

I also purchased the unit with the best RAM directly from the iDoing store.

I went for a Kenwood DMX7522S along with a conversion to an XV radio and HVAC panel. Works flawlessly plus I'm not a fan of the HVAC switches that came with JDM Levorgs.

If I change, I'll be going to the Pioneer SPH-230DAB unit - have had it in 2 cars already and it delivers everything I need. It's under £300 on Amazon now too.

Do you have a OEM part number for the radio and HVAC panel?

The panel is a generic one. No part number, I'm afraid. But the HVAC control knobs are 72311FJ801.

So I recently got my 2018 vorg STi which came with standard radio... I noticed the 2019 model came with DAB+ radio and AA and CarPlay... Can I actually grab that radio and put it in mine and it will work as per normal? Or do i have to rewire anything?

If that didn't work, I might be looking at a Teyes headunit (they are amazing). Had it in my last car and never failed me except mic was shit house. If I go this option, can I still retain factory reverse camera, steering wheel buttons, speakers and possibly factory Bluetooth mic?

Dont know the answer to the first question sorry.

But with the aftermarket i use idoing which is the a popular android head unit for Subaru (smilar to Teyes it looks anyway) and yes reverse camera, steering wheel buttons all work. My mic was part of the head unit in 2014 so its went with swap. the idoing doesn't have a great mic either but I will sit down one day and have a play as im currently using external mic.
