I've been using this websiteI've used Japan Racing calculator (https://jr-wheels.com/et-calculator), that gives a visual indication on how much poke you get.
Combine that tool with rim specs you can find from members here and you can get yourself an idea how it may fit.
FWIW, I'm running 8-wide with ET44, with no rubbing issue. I wouldn't be as confident with a 10-wide ET40 though

It's good because you can customize the guard clearances, but I can't find the values for my car on the internet, so not sure how accurate it is for visual.
From asking around, it seems a 10 wide needs rear control arm upgrades. A 9 you may only need to roll guards. So for the sake of a rim face, it's becoming quite a costly endeavour. I might just have to have a cry and get over it.
