- 2017 Subaru Levorg 1.6 Eyesight, 1996 Nissan Regulus R50
After nearly a decade of driving a 1996 Nissan Regulus/Terrano 4WD SUV on my New Zealand adventures, I'm pretty stoked to have taken possession of my new 2017 1.6ltr Eyesight Levorg (JDM import).
It doesn't go all the places the Nissan could go, but to be fair, I only used the full 4WD capabilities maybe 5% of the time, and the rest of the time I was swaying needlessly through highway corners and gravel roads, paying way too much for diesel.
The Levorg will still tackle gravel and snow with aplomb, has oodles of space for camera bags, tripods, bikes, fishing gear, camping gear, and my four-year-old daughter's luggage (mostly snacks and teddies), while allowing us to travel many more klicks on the same gas budget, and pulling like a schoolboy through the corners.
Very pleased to find such a knowledgeable community for troubleshooting.
I'm a landscape photographer, so expect a few more of these posts.
