Ooops! need to fit a new bumper!

Had an argument with a large rock down a dark lane so need to fit a new bumper, I managed to find a good s/h one which is on its way to me so next bit is getting the broken one off without causing any further damage to the grills etc. my LH headlight washer jet cover popped off in the collission but when I push it back on it doesn't latch on so guessing there's a tang broken off inside the jet thingy? I've printed off the diagram from the parts catalogue so I know where all the fasteners are, do I need to take the headlights out or can they stay in?

It literally pops off. But remove the washer jet covers first.
I to found out the hard way and one snapped off.
Pull it out with your fingers and then lift the tab that holds it in place.

So you can just pull them forwards to get to the tab?

Yes. if you want get someone to turn on headlights and then engage washers and you will see the way they come out.

Cheers Lerroy I'll get my assistant to do that once I have the bumper fitted correctly, got it loosely on today then bad light stopped play as they say!

Made the mistake of securing the top of the bumper to the car first then found I couldn't get the clips under the headlights and to the wings to clip in so had to start again getting those clips in then the top and finally the bottom ones then finally get my assistant to spray the headlights while I grabbed the jet to get the covers clipped on, looks good as new now just a few small scratches but nothing compared to the original one!

I don't believe it!!! Spent the whole day touching up a few small scratches on the replacement front bumper, then a good wash and polish and the car was looking amazing then next time out I went and backed into a skip and punched a hole in the rear garnish below the rear window, none available anywhere that ships to UK so tried my local dealer and had to order from Japan special order 6 weeks delivery forecast!
So today removed the broken parts and started pulling out a bit of damage to the tailgate to get everything back in line ready for the new parts when they arrive, almost there just a bit of fine tuning to get the back light aligned to the surrounding bodywork, quite amazing how far things move from a single hit!
