Secret button?

While working on my tailgate after an argument with a skip, when refitting the plastic moulding with the boot release button so I could secure the car overnight and be able to open the boot in the morning when I continue, I have discovered a small secret button towards the right hand end of the above moulding 91111AL040, it's a small square rubber button about 6mm across and has 2 thin blue wires connected to it, any ideas?

It's the button to lock the car. Same functionality as the keyless locking with the front door handles. Also no worries as the car will not lock with the keys inside when using the trunk button or handles to lock it.

Many thanks that's exactly what it is, had the car from new but never knew about this button, great idea espacially in the dark!
