No problems here to help where I can. I feel you, hated the chrome look.

its a bit of a pain to remove honestly and i dont have better photos sorry but...

You have to remove all the plastic trim from the boot door inside.
Unplug the cables for the number plate light and reverse camera
Then there are 4 nuts circled in red that you need to remove see image below
now you can remove the whole piece that circled in blue, its pretty tight and a pain as its secured with pop clips.

once that piece is off the car you should be able to work out how to remove the chrome.

Woooow.... Holly molly lol... Ain't no body got time for day! Hahaha

I'll just mask off everything and either plasti dip or just get it wrapped! Done

But can't wait to do it... Looks so much better how u done it.

Can't wait to get the interior red strips done too, looks so awesome!

Do you remember if the speed unit (mph or kph) change when you swap the cluster? It's the same as the unit on the MFD that change when you plug in?
I dont know about the cluster sorry. Only ever tried from countries where its KM/H. there is no setting to change between on the Japan spec cars / clusters

I can you tell you that i bought a USDM MFD and that changed from Miles and Fahrenheit to kmh and Centigrade when it was plugged in.

I took car on the track last week, they have a 'breakfast and laps' event here every month $50 at highlands track Cromwell. It is billed as a "tour of the track" but we got up to around 160+kmh, got to really test the car for 2 laps. Super happy with how she handled and kept up with some quicker cars. I did try to film but my camera mount failed me, vibrated the power button and turned off :(.
I will defiantly go again so stay tuned.

After doing the swaybar and seeing the dirty looking exhaust, felt I could make it look a bit better, grabbed some cleaning products and polishes and used 000 mesh. Was pretty hard work, but came up pretty nice. Really want to do mid pipe but PITA to get to with just jack stands, one day.

Now gotta do the right side :)

Scored a Levorg STI speedo from Be-forward that had 1500km more than my current milage, had a scratch on the plastic cover so negotiated with seller and got a little bit off. I just swapped my current cover with the the STI one and no scratch :)

Have been waiting to install when milage became close or even exactly the same. I caved and installed today, was a few hundred km more, but close enough.

Bit of an indulgence, the only difference is the blue lights are now red and it has a glowing STI log on the Rev gauge. I was kind of hoping for a different animation or welcome screen but same as the GTS.

My interior now is all matchy red, will put a night photo up when I get a chance.

Probably should have just saved on all these parts and got an STI but fun researching / installing parts
I'm after the aus sti ones as they are in mph. Are they a straight fit or will I need to code them?

Do you mean after "a US" sti one ?
the AUS from Australia ones are in kmph

Should be a straight swap is USA,
If the gauges are like for like kmph to kmph, mph to mph its plug and play. I think you would have some issues with gong from kmph to mph.

The only thing that is stored in the guage is milage.

Sorry stil confused haha

Yours is in UK right doesn't your car have MPH standard or did you import with a KMPH cluster ?
what cluster do you have currently 180kmph or 280kmph

My cluster is kmph but only goes to 180kmph I know there are 280kmph JDM ones but i have no experience in swapping between

I swapped like for like 180kmph to 180kmph with no issues.

if you are after AUS/JDM one i would suggest autoparts.Beforward.jp

I'm in the uk, but use a heads up display to show mph. My standard clocks show kph, and 180kph. I'd rather the 280kph as I intend to lift the Japanese limiter off mine.

ah ok makes sense

Would love to say its a straight swap, but I'm not 100% sure swapping to larger scale of cluster would work (180kmph to 280kmph)

Ok got it all sorted

the spliced wires that were confusing me were the JDM toll reader thingo, i removed all all good

I still couldn't get the 5 pin connection to fit into the idoing unit well, seemed to bend pins
instead i just choped the oem headunits plug and spliced the idoing camera input into 12+/Ground and used the RCA

still wouldn't switch when reverse was selected so identified and additional (i think) 6 pin plug with pink/green and purple wires
quick search on google said these were CAN wires and purple was reverse, i tested with voltmeter and worked. I spliced into idoing head unit Brown and black wire labelled "BACK" and now shows camera when reverse selected :)

stock loom left, chopped oem headunit plug that i tapped into

I doing camera connector spliced into oem plug for camera

View attachment 1803
Purple reverse wire tapped into idoing brown wire for Back or reverse trigger

Only problem is better screen shows the camera is not great quality, wonder if easy swap to upgraded model ?

These are my stock DAB antenna connectors anyone have a way i can utilise them ?
Hi lerroy, I've been looking for exactly this info! Thank you, I will give it a shot and update, Cheers

Hey @lucavolta

Sure is, exact same connections and easy swap. GTS / VM4 (1.6) and STI all the same
Mine was from Japan so just had to change the language
keep in mine the milage is stored in the cluster
how do you change the language on the cluster please?
