Finally ordered some DBA T2 rotors, just need some pads then the Brembo swap can happen!

Hi Guys... The biggest problem for Front Brembo brakes (rear is different, because of the e-brake), considering stock rims, is the "ET". Now I mount WRX STI my 2015-17 wheels and there should be no problems to mount 4 pot WRX STI MY2015-17 (also years before) Black (and Gold as well) Brembo calipers. (With these rims or at least similar measures, but with lower Et, as Akko suggested, cause these WRX STI wheels have a special design otherwise, with ET 55 they count Mount)
On these rims you could mount for sure also big brakes like WRX STI MY2018 Yellow highlighter Brembo 6 pots calipers...)
Already bought Brembo Calipers Rotors, Pads.... Going to paint black the rear brakes cause I'm not changing them (it would be possibile, but complicated, you can imagine the reason...) Gonna Mount front Brembo brakes the first week of may. Will post photo...:)

Mounted ! the Wrx Sti stock wheels my15-17 that you see in the photo (18 8,5 et 55) have a special design to fit these brakes. Probably you can use wheels withsimilar measures but with a lower ET (35 could possibly fit) or wheel spacers. Do you agree Akko ? :)

Just waiting for my pads to arrive before I change mine over, fingers crossed for next week!

I think I'll be going down the same route of updating the discs and pads first, although I am interested to see how this all plays out with the Brembo upgrade.

Side note, why is a brake cylinder stopper required?

Hi all, I've been looking into upgrading to the newer 6 piston Brembos from the 2017,18... STI WRX and they should fit from all accounts... I looked at the brake master cylinder and hub assy's which have the same part numbers across levorg, wrx and sti wrx; the holes for the calipers are the same dimensionally to fit the calipers.
My wheels are 18x8 ET45 Oz Racing Superturismo LM's and they have enough clearance for the calipers (i did a test fit when I received the calipers).
I did however get them painted silver to blend in a bit with the rest of the car.
I have DBA 4000 cross drilled/slotted rotors, HEL stainless steel lines, Bendix Ultimate pads all ready to go. I have to wait for a set of sti wrx dust covers for the back sides as the levorg ones are a different size and will foul the brembos.
I also might have to wait till I get my engines fuel dilution issue sorted under warranty before I fit these.
I also spoke to a motorsport shop in WA and asked about the Eyesight, VDC (traction control), etc... and they said it shouldn't affect the car in a negative way.
Also I'm only changing the front calipers, I'm not going to mess with the EBC setup for now.

What I wonder about, is if you add extra braking capabilities to the front and not to the rear at the same time, then the ratio sweet spot of front to rear braking percentages set by Subaru will be thrown out, as you will be getting alot higher braking performance to the front and nothing extra added to the rear. I wonder how this will affect the cars stability, especially on heavy braking, let alone braking not in a straight line? Just my thoughts for what its worth.

Yep I have been thinking about that and I can't find any solid fixes on the net so far (apart from full race replacement pedal box kits). I'll order set of new pads for the rears as I feel the stock ones are crap, so that will be a start. Could even get a pair of slotted rotors for the rear.

Good luck with it man. I’m NOT a mechanic so my thoughts are just that, thoughts.It just seems logical to me that the percentage of braking power increase should be added equally on All corners. So even though the front does more percentage of the braking, the rear braking percentage is proportionate to the front, as in they are a matched set. Though pads and rotors will increase the rear braking, the front braking will have a much higher increase with Brembos even if you left the stock pads and rotors up front (which I assume isn’t the plan). But like I said that’s just my opinion, I’m sure a brake specialist would know definitively, what does Brembo say about a front only upgrade with their calipers?

I was thinking about it all and then remembered that I have done this before, just not with brembos, but on a VL Turbo where I swapped out the front single piston caliper and std disc for the VY commodore twin piston caliper and larger discs and I upgraded the brake booster and master cylinder also but didn't change the rear calipers and it turned out brilliantly. No problems with the rears being smaller at all. The car stopped better than any std VL turbo ever before. And yes this was upgrading the VL Turbo brakes, not the smaller NA brakes.
The other thing is that when you brake you transfer weight forward so the harder you brake the less effective the rears will work (not talking in a massive way but at least in a minor way).
I still think it will be perfectly fine. I also have just found a yt vid of a Levorg in japan with brembos on the front with the stock rears here

Hi, I thought I’d share some information about the Brembo 4 pot conversion.
Just changed to WRX 2016 calipers on my 2016 Levorg.

I have stock 18x7.5 inch wheels with 55 offset and they fit with 20mm spacers.
Even my 17 inch winter wheels fit.

Brake hoses and brake hose banjo bolt fit.
You will need new caliper bolts (to hub) as the thread on the Brembos are finer, and of course STI discs and pads

Other than that, it’s smooth upgrade, and the car brakes wonderfully!
