I just removed the thing and put a spare inside there. Made a lid/hatch for it when it was on air, and a full size wheel fits in there without it pushing the lid up. Size of the wheel is 19x9,5 and have a 235/35 tire on it. 8,5 or less would most likely be better though.

You have to take out most of the console. Can't remember if you can remove everything by removing the two screws underneath the silver e-brake cover (just pull this straight up) or if you need to take out the armrest too.. (two screws, one on each side under some plastic covers). Not that hard...
