JDM head unit - Bluetooth audio Possible ?

Hi, which idoing unit did you use? I have the same ac controls as you and was lead to believe the idoing surround only works with the 3 knob type? Also did all the other features work and plugin ok? Cheers

Yep had to change the AC controls check my build thread in my sig for a breakdown

almost everything worked just the rear camera which i had to play around with

They weren't that much i think $140 NZ shipped I got from be-forward Japan

Otherwise check out some wreckers for WRX / Impreza / Levorg i got quoted 180 for WRX and 220 for levorg

Contact idoing, show them your interior and they will show you which one fits

My phone connects and plays music no issue. Calls I can hear the person talking but they can't hear me. My steering wheel controls don't work either, so there could be a fault.

On my Stereo I just press the Bluetooth option and my phone asks me to allow the connection.

hello!! I think I have got the same/similar model as yours....but I get stuck at "insert your map SD card", can't even go pass this screen.

did you have the same issue? or you actually have the original japanese map sd card....

I don't have the SD card unfortunately, I actually gave to another forum member who had a similar issue but it didn't work, I think there was more to it, possibly card has serial number for headhunt I'm not sure.

I would highly recommend replacing with a android head unit though, although costs a bit well worth it.

Thanks mate, what model headunit or which retailer did you go with? My original headunit likes like Ross', slightly different to your photos ...never expected this SD card issue! Thought I would just be able to use carplay or android auto ...

what year is yours ?

Dont think they had airplay or android auto until pretty current models. bluetooth only really. the stock JDM head unit is pretty terrible, even if you did get SD card mine didnt work.

mine is a 2019 "F" variant, it is probably the lastest VMG sub model - it does come with android auto and carplay IF I can get through the first error screen

ah ok much later than mine, your model head unit would be allot different to mine.
might be worth searching around online for SD card for your particular model if you if you can find on the unit, frustrating they didnt give it to you.

Surprisingly nothing much available online.....there is an ad on FB selling them for 149USD each from Kenya, thanks but no thanks!!

I have contacted some Japanese parts websites for advice. But as many have suggested before, easier to just replace the unit...but that in itself doesn't seem too straightforward.

Luckily the dashboard can be changed to English...

First day having the car btw, punchy yet it drives super smoothly. Everything I expected for a Levorg!!

Ahh it looks like the same model!!!...you must have the map SD card it's not this slot, you will probably see another one on the right if you slide the plastic cover left slightly to remove it?

Wow!!! Thanks mate, I really appreciate it. I thought of asking but also thought it would probably be too much trouble for you because it would probably need to be a clone using DiskGenius or something similar instead of just copy and paste. The files will probably be too big to be share using email, we would need Dropbox or something.

Still I wish I could see this post earlier.......just paid someone in NZ NZD$120 for a SD card. Oh well at least I hope that works for me. I can then see if I can make it available to other fellow Levorg owners with the same issue.
